Cruise through some of the iconic locations that gave rise to Jamaica’s rich and globally impactful musical heritage, and cemented Kingston’s title as a Creative City of Music. This 3-hour bus tour, curated by Kingston Creative, pulsates with the rhythmic vibes of reggae, so come with us along Orange Street, also known as “Beat Street” —the birthplace of Jamaica’s Crown Prince of Reggae, Dennis Brown, home to the famous Studio One Records, and the original studios of some of Jamaica’s most legendary songwriters and record producers.

A stop-in at Rockers International, the sole recording studio still operating on “Beat Street”, is an auditory and visual trip down memory lane, where you’ll often find patrons rocking to timeless reggae chunes (read: tunes) on pressed vinyl. The Tour also includes a stop at the revered Trench Town Culture Yard where Bob Marley once lived, and where he co-wrote the hit song, “No Woman No Cry”, with his friend and mentor, Tarta. Today’s Culture Yard has a small museum depicting the history of Trench Town and showcasing instruments and artifacts used by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer.

Kingston Creative requires a minimum of 4 persons to run the Sounds of the City Tour. In the event that we do not receive the minimum requirement of 4 clients for a scheduled tour up to 24 hours in advance of the tour, the tour will be cancelled and booked clients will be refunded any fees paid.
